Cash Hire Procedures
Anyone wishing to hire tools and equipment who does not have an account will have to do so as a cash hirer and follow the procedures listed here:
- All cash customers must provide 2 forms of I.D. prior to any hire contract being raised. One of the two must be a photo style, which also shows the home address of the person hiring the equipment, a modern type driving licence is ideal. The other I.D. must also show the same home address and be dated within the last 3 months. A utility bill or mobile phone bill are ideal. I.D. can either be emailed directly to andy@westcountrytoolhire.co.uk or brought to the office where copies will be taken. At the end of the hire, once all monies are paid, the I.D. copies will either be given back to the hirer or destroyed. We will not keep or sell on your private information except for statutory legal purposes such as accounting, HMRC or legal authorities if directed to, such as the police.
- All cash customers are required to pay a deposit for the hired goods prior to any cash hire contract being raised. The deposit value is set at 5 times the weekly rate of the item(s) being hired, e.g. a cement mixer weekly hire rate is £40, therefore the deposit charge is 5 x £40 = £200. The deposit is to be paid by Bank Transfer only, directly into the bank account of West Country Tool Hire Ltd by the hirer who has provided the correct I.D. as detailed previously
- Charges other than the hire charge itself which apply to the hire are delivery, if you have requested the item(s) to be delivered, collection, if you have requested the item(s) are collected from you at the end of the hire. For delivery and collection rates that apply to your area please see the relevant details in the info section of this website. Any damages which occur whilst the item(s) are on hire will be taken out of the held deposit, assuming it covers the full cost of the damages, if it doesn’t it will be necessary to make an additional payment. Any re-fuelling of machinery is also chargeable. All petrol and diesel equipment is supplied fully fuelled and must be returned full, if not a re-fuelling charge will be deducted from the deposit. Please note: only WHITE DIESEL must be used to re-fuel diesel machinery, due to the recent law change. A cleaning charge of £15 per item hired will be applied to any hired goods returned dirty or unclean, this is to ensure any hired goods are in a condition fit for rehire. If at the end of the hire all relevant costs are paid, the remaining balance of the deposit, assuming there is any, will be refunded to the customer by the same means as which it was originally hired.
- If any Diesel equipment is returned with red diesel in, the fuel will be drained off and replaced with WHITE diesel and charged to the customer accordingly
- Depending on the length of the hire, if over 4 weeks as an example, it will be necessary to take an additional deposit to cover the remaining time the item(s) are kept.
- Only equipment stocked by West Country Tool Hire can be hired by cash customers. Cross hire items wil not be supplied to cash customers.
